2022 IMF Annual Report: Crisis Upon Crisis

The recently published 2022 IMF Annual Report highlights the IMF’s work on COVID-19 recovery and the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; inflation; how to achieve an equitable recovery; debt; and climate change, digital money, and inclusion. During FY22, the IMF lent $113 billion to 23 countries, provided 126 country health checks, and allocated $242 million for technical assistance, policy-oriented training, and peer learning.

Visions for the future were brightening, with growth expected around the globe and optimism slowly replacing the pessimism that had previously pervaded.
